The Lord created marriage as a powerful tool for His glory and for us to enjoy. Marriage is an amazing picture of the relationship between Christ and His church. He loves us with such an everlasting, unconditional love, and as we draw on His love, the better we are able to show unconditional love and respect in our marriages.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
Psalm 86:15: “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
1 John 4:19: “We love because he first loved us.”
Psalm 31:23: “Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.”
