9 Bible Verses To Show God’s Protection

The following verses specifically speak about protecting us from threats that may appear once in a lifetime or every day.

Bible verses about protection from danger and enemies

The Israelites were no strangers to danger and enemies throughout their history, and when the early church formed, they followed the same pattern. Nevertheless, Scripture speaks about God's protection against danger and our enemies:
Psalms 91:1-3 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence."

2 Samuel 22:4 "I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies."
David sings this praise the Lord. Throughout the life of the Israelite king, he'd fled from enemies ranging from King Saul to his son who attempted to dethrone him. God protected him in every case.
Psalms 23:5 "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
One of the most quoted chapters in the Bible includes an interesting statement. God prepares a table in the presence of our enemies. God provides protection for us even in our enemy's presence.

Bible verses about protection and safety

We can often worry about protection and safety on a daily basis. With news about school shootings and disturbances in what seemed like safe places, we often can fear for our own lives and the lives of our loved ones. The following verses talk about safety:
Psalms 4:8 "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety."
One of the most vulnerable positions we can be is asleep. But we can rest in the fact that under the shadow of God's wings, we are safe.
Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."

Bible verses about protecting your child and family and home

We want nothing more than to protect our children and our families from the hurtful and hateful world around us. Sending off our kids to school or extracurriculars can be a scary experience, but these verses assure us about God's protection of our children, family, and homes:
Psalms 32:7 "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."

Isaiah 49:25 "For thus says the Lord: "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children."

Bible verses about safety for travel

The phrase "we pray for safe travels" often appears in prayers before a loved one or fellow church member embarks on a trip. Does the Bible have anything to say about safe travels and the Lord's protection over a believer as they venture from one destination to the next?
Psalms 121:8 "The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."
God watches over us no matter where we are in the world. Whether in the process of coming or going to a certain destination, home or away, he will serve as a lookout for us.
Proverbs 3:23-26 "Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared."
God protects us no matter where we go. He will keep our foot from being snared. We don't have to be afraid about any disaster that may strike us because He will be with us every step (or mile) of the way.
